Hello, my name is Amee Barrett, I am a bilingual English/Spanish Associate Marriage Family Therapist (#AMFT151538). I have always been passionate about helping others overcome their hurdles. My journey began when I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and then began working as a case worker. Working as a Human Services case worker, allowed me to work with a wide variety of individuals from all different walks of life. This influenced me to continue my education. I completed my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree from California Baptist University (2024) which has brought me to my current role as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a goal to become licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist.
I firmly believe in the principle of treating others the way you would like to be treated, and this philosophy guides both my personal and professional life. My aim is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you can truly be yourself; provide care for individuals suffering from distress, seeking meaning in life; self-discovery, healing and instill hope for a brighter future. In addition, I incorporate clinical skills and therapeutic techniques to help individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges. I am committed to promoting emotional well-being through evidence-based practices, empathy, and a client-centered approach in my work. The theoretical orientations I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person Centered Therapy and Art Therapy. Outside of work, you can often find me baking, gardening, rescuing animals spending time with my family and watching movies. I am excited about the opportunities ahead. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
