Hello! My name is Tristan Freeman. I am an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist striving to be a facilitator of change and a source of hope for those needing a safe nonjudgmental space. Having earned my Master’s degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at California State University, San Bernardino (May 2024), I am committed to implementing up-to-date evidence-based approaches that blend several core foundational behavioral principles with various trauma-informed and person-centered techniques. The goal I aim to achieve with my clients is for them to feel empowered and prepared so they can confidently take on the challenges they may be facing in their own lives or explore painful memories/experiences that have been left unresolved in the past.

Areas of Experience: My clinical background ranges from a diverse pool of therapeutic modalities primarily revolving around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). I also have experience utilizing person-centered approaches to therapy as is seen with Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which seeks to incorporate a more trauma-minded approach to therapy. Throughout my 2 years of prior experience, I have had the opportunity to work in college settings, community mental health settings, and private clinics across the Inland Empire with children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and families. Within these populations, I have gained a particular familiarity when it comes to concerns related to depression, anxiety, or traumatic events. Drawing on these experiences, I emphasize a strengths-based, person-centered approach to therapy that empowers my clients to discover the innate resilience within them while promoting new positive coping strategies. Fun Facts!

One of my hobbies is my garden at home. I find it to be a helpful time to "check in" with myself and reflect on things taking place in my life at that moment or simply appreciate the time outside in the sun within nature. I also enjoy a lot of pop culture and try to stay on the lookout for any conventions or events in the area. However, one of my favorite things to do whenever I get the chance is to experience live music at a concert, especially with my close group of friends.
